MARCH COMMITTEES

ABOUT OUR COMMITTEES

Our committee’s are entirely queer & trans youth-led. Any queer and/or trans youth under 25 is welcome to join one, regardless of education level, skill in that specific committee’s focus, or experience planning large scale events.

All we ask is that you join with an open mind and an eagerness to create a better world for queer & trans youth!

GENERAL MARCH COMMITTEE

The general march committee provides oversight to the entire march. Perfect for youth with a lot of march ideas they’d like to share.

The committee will meet once a week to work on the following tasks…

  • Provide input & suggestions on the general march.
  • Make requests to committees on specific tasks.
  • Facilitate the creation of a list of demands.

RESOURCES & GUIDES COMMITTEE

The resources & guides committee creates resources & guides for the march. Perfect for youth with a love for spreading education.

The committee will meet every other week to work on the following tasks…

  • Creating resources for marches, walkouts, and other events.
  • Creating guides for march planning and march safety.
  • Updating our website with march resources & guides.
  • Creating social media content advertising the resources & guides.

WASHINGTON DC MARCH COMMITTEE

The Washington D.C. march committee’s sole goal is organizing a march in our nations capital. Perfect for youth eager to make their voices heard on the national level!

The committee will meet once a week to work on the following tasks…

  • Connecting with D.C. based orgs to plan a march.
  • Assembling a diverse group of youth who will attend the Washington D.C. march (depending on funds).
  • Connecting with politicians and inviting them to the march.

STATE MARCH COMMITTEE

The state march committee is in charge of assuring that there is a march in all 50 states. Perfect for youth interested in planning a march in their home state.

The committee will meet every other week to work on the following tasks…

  • Connecting with state & national orgs to delegate marches.
  • Responding to any state orgs interested in hosting a march.
  • Keeping a list of states holding marches with their locations & hosts.
  • Updating our website with state march information.
  • Creating content to advertise state marches on social media.
